- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 packet dried onion soup mix
- 1 pound Frigo® Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, sliced into 4 thick slices
- 4 whole wheat hamburger rolls
- 8 slices Beefsteak tomato
- 4 romaine lettuce leaves
- 4 slices red onion
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon store-bought pesto
Directions
Mix the onion soup mix into the ground beef. Shape into 4 evenly matched patties. Grill the burgers over medium-high heat, approximately 12–13 minutes total, turning once, or until the burgers are done. In a small bowl, mix the mayo and jarred pesto sauce for spreading later.
Top each patty with 1 slice of the Frigo® Fresh Mozzarella Cheese for the last minute of grill time while grilling the buns lightly.
Spread inside the top rolls with the pesto mayo. Place the burgers on the bottom rolls.
Top the burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion and the remaining buns. Serve immediately.
